| Important notice: Typherix VI polysaccharide, Hepatyrix combined hepatitis A (inactivated) and typhoid polysaccharide vaccine (absorbed) |
|
| We have been informed of a supplier problem with Typherix VI polysaccharide typhoid vaccine and Hepatyrix combined hepatitis A (inactivated) and typhoid polysaccharide vaccine (absorbed), both supplied by Glaxo Smith Kline. There will be global constraints until the end of 2013 on both vaccines.
GSK state:
“ The global supply constraints are due to a delay in a new manufacturing facility coming on line and GSK has found it necessary to use normal reserves for typhoid antigen to manufacture critical childhood vaccines. GSK has prioritized the production of vaccines to the “2011-2012 Who proprieties” and will be unable to manufacture typhoid antigen until 2012”.
Out of stock timelines are July 2011 for Typherix until the end of 2013. Whereas supply for Hepatyrix is expected to meet demand for 2011, but they will be out of stock from January 2012 through to at least the end of 2013.
Kays Medical aims to find alternative vaccines manufactured by other suppliers, but please note demand for these alternatives will be significantly increased as a result of GSK shortages.
We will do everything we can to assist you in meeting your vaccine requirements.
At the time of publishing this notice we have small numbers of these vaccines in stock, please call 0151 482 2830 for availability
