Kays Support 6th Form Expedition to Kenya

Kays Medical are very proud to be sponsoring a group of 30 students from Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College, with over £2000 worth of first aid supplies. They are embarking on an expedition to Kenya, to provide much needed assistance to young children and people of the area.

Kays have provided a bespoke first aid kit for each of the 30 students taking part in the expedition which will provide assistance for conditions such as diarrhoea, dehydration, blisters and cuts. In addition a large kit has also been provided in the event of injuries or conditions such as more serious dehydration requiring intravenous fluids…hopefully there will be no need to use this kit. Daniel Polak, Assistant Marketing Manager at Kays maintained “it is a pleasure to support such a worthy project, and we wish all the students a safe and fulfilling journey”

Organising and leading the expedition is Miss Elinor Suter, teacher at the Sandbach school. She commented “The First Aid kits will be invaluable for the girls in conditions which are the polar opposite of what they experience at home in Cheshire.“ The students will be, among other community led projects, helping to build a school for children of the area. Miss Suter also commented “The trip will be a once in a life time chance for them not only to develop their own interpersonal skills but also make a real difference to the lives of people in the developing world.”

The Sandbach girls will also, as part of there journey be scaling the hights of Mount Kenya which is some 5000m high. The blister plasters provided by Kays should be very useful to them during this activity.

When asked what they expect to get out of this journey one of the students commented “We will probably get a different outlook on life and hope we can make a difference to the people, as well”
