Study Day Success in Nottingham

BioCity Nottingham provided a great venue for this year’s ‘Nottingham Occupational Health Nurses Group Study Day’. The event, sponsored by Kays Medical, centred on the main theme of Managing Mental Health in the Workplace.

Seven key speakers took to the stage throughout the day sharing their views on different aspects of mental health in the workplace. The selection of topics and speakers complimented the main theme and proved a huge success with the delegates.

Throughout the day, not only could delegates listen to the informative speakers but they also got the chance to look through their delegate packs, donated by Kays Medical and explore the various exhibition stands. The lunch time food wasn’t bad either!

Julie Howe-Shilton, an Occupational Health Nurse at Orchard Medical Practice, summed up the overall view of the delegates and was enthusiastic in her praise: “The event itself was beneficial and appropriate to managing mental health in the workplace. Evidently a lot of effort had taken place within the NOHG which again was much appreciated as well as the cost of the day being assisted through subsidy from the sponsors, such as Kays Medical.”

The day was a great success for both the organisers and more importantly the nurses themselves, helping towards continued professional development and giving terrific insight into a topic that is becoming increasingly prominent: managing mental health in the workplace.
