Response UK are specialists in Biohazard Decontamination; providing products, systems and training to effectively reduce the risk of cross infection and cross contamination when dealing
with incidents involving body fluids.

Body fluids include blood, vomit, faeces and urine; and infection may be spread by contact with body fluids of an infected person or contaminated items such as needles and syringes. Common occupational infections include: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Viral Gastroenteritis (e.g. Norovirus), HIV and Shigellosis.

Although the risk in everyday life is minimal, the likes of First Aiders, Community Care workers, Cleaners, Health workers and those working in the Emergency Services are all employees at an increased risk if suitable precautions are not taken.

According to The Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens there were nearly 700 new cases of occupationally acquired infection in 2001.
