A new guide offering practical advice for safety and union reps on sickness absence and return-to-work issues has been published by the HSE.  Working together to prevent sickness absence becoming job loss was described as the TUC's head of health and safety, Hugh Robertson, as "a clear, concise and sensible guide" which will help safety reps show employers that "taking a positive approach to managing sickness absence and supporting workers in getting back to work is in everyone's interest".
