For: All people on sites and premises where hydrofluoric acid is stored or used, including as a by-product, where Calcium Gluconate Gel is the approved protocol.

  The confidence to recognise and treat casualties suffering hydrofluoric acid burns, either of themselves or others, using Calcium Gluconate Gel.

• Organisation:
  Compliance with Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations to have specialist hydrofluoric acid treatment training.

Syllabus:

• treatment of hydrofluoric acid burns
• safety and protection of rescuers
• referral to hospital
• supply / storage
• record keeping

Certificate:

• Continual assessment, no formal examination. Certificate awarded to successful candidates.
