Aspirin has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory actions. It is
indicated for:
• The relief of headache, toothache, migraine, neuralgia, sore throat,
dysmenorrhoea
• The symptomatic relief of influenza, feverishness, rheumatic
pains, sciatica, lumbago, fibrositis, muscular aches and pains
• It also has
an antithrombotic action, mediated through inhibition of platelet activation,
which has been shown to be useful in secondary prophylaxis following myocardial
infarction, and in patients with unstable angina and cerebral transient
ischaemic attacks
