Is Your School Ready for Benedict’s Law?
Named after five-year-old Benedict Blythe, who tragically died from anaphylaxis at school in 2021, Benedict’s Law places a legal duty on every school in England to have the following safeguards in place from September 2026.
Spare AAI
Schools must stock spare auto-injectors on site for emergency use, not just for pupils with a diagnosis, but for any child on the premises.
Mandatory Staff Training
All staff – including teachers, lunch supervisors and office personnel must be trained to recognise anaphylaxis and use an auto-injector.
Allergy Policy
Schools must publish a comprehensive allergy and anaphylaxis policy and maintain individual healthcare plans for at-risk pupils.
Incident Recording
Every allergic incident or near-miss must be formally recorded to demonstrate compliance and inform ongoing safety procedures.

Our Benedict’s Law Compliance Kit is designed so that school leaders can tick every statutory requirement with a single purchase. No piecing together multiple suppliers. No gaps.

Our online anaphylaxis training is delivered via Microsoft Teams, making it easy for staff to join from anywhere. The session covers the key requirements of Benedict’s Law, helping schools understand their responsibilities while building confidence in recognising and managing allergies. Participants will learn how to use adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) effectively, as well as understand the important differences between allergies and anaphylaxis, ensuring they are fully prepared to respond in an emergency.
