Prescription Only Medicines (POM)

Prescription only medicines are normally supplied directly to the patient on a prescription from a doctor or other authorised medical person. Within an occupational health scheme a nurse may order a POM for a company, however the medicine should only be administered under the supervision of a doctor or duly authorised protocol. The relevant POM authorisation form has to be filled out because an order cannot be processed without this form. Examples of POMs available from us are:

General Sales List (GSL)

General sales list products are items which are available to sell without pharmacy training and generally considered safe for us by anyone undertaking reasonable guidance. Most often low dosage and/or low quantity packs of pain killers and remedies. Examples of GSL pharmaceuticals available from us:

Pharmacy Medicines (P)

Pharmacy medicines are items which are neither a GSL nor a POM, so they may be sold at a pharmacy but not for self-selection. They are reserved from GSL as they may require advice on use or used in situations requiring referral to a medical prescriber. Suitably trained counter assistant may sell pharmacy medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist. Examples of these pharmaceuticals that we supply are:

Vaccines

We also maintain stocks of popular seasonal vaccines and can further work to source large quantities of vaccines on pre-order, for example flu vaccines ahead of winter months. N.B – Vaccines are prescription only medicines. Examples of vaccines available from us are:
